You’re not in this alone.
Are you a parent who is feeling overwhelmed or facing difficult circumstances? We’re here for you!Alongside Families (ASF) is a collaboration of volunteers, local churches, and our professional staff team to provide a network of support to families in our community. Just like a close friend or extended family member, ASF provides safe, loving homes where parents can voluntarily have their children cared for while seeking to restore stability in their lives without the fear of losing custody.
It takes a village to raise a child… And we’re here to be your village.
Crisis Hosting
Volunteer host families temporarily care for children while parents who are facing a crisis stabilize their situation.
a Community Friend
Connect parents with a friend who can listen, care, and encourage.
Day Hosting

- experiencing homelessness or unemployment
- needing temporary child care support after leaving a domestic violence relationship
- needing temporary child care support while working on a long-term childcare solution
We want you to know
- Our goal is ALWAYS to reunify you and your children. We believe that families belong together.
- You maintain full custody of your child and can request that they come home to you whenever you wish.
- We all need support from others. We’re here to support, not to judge.
- We keep parents closely connected with their child(ren) during hosting through visits, texts, FaceTime, phone calls, etc.
- Hosting length is based on your need: from a couple of days to several months.
- We’re here for you too– not only for your children. A Parent Ally will support you toward your goals for your family and caring volunteers will be there to cheer you on and be a friend.
